Description
Satin organdy is a lightweight, sheer fabric that combines the crisp texture of organdy with the smooth, glossy finish of satin. It has a delicate, translucent appearance and a subtle sheen, making it ideal for elegant garments, overlays, and decorative applications such as bridal wear and evening gowns.
Organdy is an acid stiffened cloth. Its sheerness and crispness is the result of an acid finish, where the fabric is treated with sulfuric acid solution for a short period and then neutralized to remove excessive acid. The process is named "parchmentising".
