Wide Range of High-Quality Lighting for Sale

Proper lighting can have a big effect on how you feel in a space, and different spaces may need different kinds of lighting. A good lighting setup uses a mix of different kinds of light to make a space that is easy to work or relax in.

Lighting has both physical and biological effects that can affect a person's health and happiness. From a biological point of view, good lighting design can help stabilise your circadian rhythm, which can improve your mood and help you sleep better. From a psychological point of view, good light can help lessen depression and even improve things like reaction time.

Simply put, lighting has a big effect on our mood and shouldn't be ignored.

The light should be one of the first things you think about when planning your space. Working with a lighting designer and having them talk with your architect, electrician, and any other professionals working on the project will make sure that everyone is on the same page.

We offer a wide range of lights for sale in our online store at competitive prices.

Main Types of Lighting for the Home

U should use three basic types of lighting in a room: ambient or general lighting, accent lighting, and task lighting.

Ambient lighting, also called general lighting, is an important part of any good lighting plan because it sets the mood for the room and gives you enough light to see and move around comfortably and safely.

Ambient lighting is usually provided by fixtures that hang from the ceiling, recessed pot lights, track lights, chandeliers, and other ceiling lamps, or fixtures that stand on their own, such as floor and table lamps.

Accent lighting is meant to draw attention to something. It adds depth to a room's ambient lighting and can be used to draw attention to a feature, like a piece of art or a plant, or to show off a unique design element, like the texture of a wall or a decorative coving.

Accent lighting should shine at least three times as much light on the main point as it does on the rest of the room. Most of the time, this is done with track lighting, recessed lighting, or wall-mounted lights like picture lights and sconces that can be turned and angled to make a spotlight.

Task lighting is meant to help you do a task. This kind of lighting is focused on a specific area and comes from a variety of different sources. This means that you can adjust the lighting in a workspace or other area to make it brighter or darker, depending on your needs. Effective task lighting should cut down on glare and be bright enough to keep your eyes from getting tired.

Here are the five most common types of light bulbs and the pros and cons of each one.

1- Incandescent Bulbs:

In an incandescent bulb, a tungsten filament is heated to a high temperature through the passage of an electrical current, causing it to emit visible light. The bulb is filled with either a vacuum or an inert gas, such as nitrogen, which helps to prevent oxidation of the filament. However, incandescent bulbs are inefficient in converting electrical energy to light, resulting in a significant waste of energy. They have a limited lifespan of approximately 700 to 1000 hours. Although incandescent bulbs have been widely used in buildings since their invention, they are gradually being replaced by more energy-efficient lighting options such as LED, fluorescent, and HID bulbs.

2- Fluorescent Lamps:

In a fluorescent tube, electricity flows between cathodes and excites the mercury and other gases inside, which then give off energy. Radiant energy is turned into visible light by the phosphorous coating on the outside. Fluorescent lamps use less energy to make the same amount of light and can last longer.

3- Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL):

The CFLs have taken the place of incandescent bulbs in homes and businesses. It consists of multiple tubular loops, filled with mercury and has a resemblance to the incandescent bulb. Compared to incandescent bulbs, CFLs have a longer lifespan (up to 10,000 hours), use less energy, and give off more light.

4- Halogen Lamps:

Halogen lamps are an improved version of incandescent bulbs in which tungsten filament is wrapped in a compact transparent envelope. The name of the bulb comes from the fact that a small amount of Halogen is mixed with a gas that increases the brightness and lifespan of the bulb resulting in higher luminous efficiency.

5- Light Emitting Diode (LED):

LED bulbs are becoming more popular because they use less energy. A LED bulb is made up of many diodes that work together to give off the right amount of light. As a type of semiconductor, LEDs are very good at using energy and can make brighter light with less power. A LED can give off coloured light without using colour filters.

Efficient Use of Lights in Every Room

  • Include at least three sources of light in each room: General lighting (overhead or pendant), Specific lighting (task or table), and Ambient lighting (sconces, candles, or decorative).
  • Choose the right shade for your fixtures: White shades let light pass through but can create a colder tone, while coloured shades will tint light, making it appear creamier, warmer, or cooler, depending on the hue you choose.
  • Incorporate reflective surfaces into your home; mirrors, glossy floors, and metallic finishes will bounce light around a room.
  • When it comes to your kitchen specifically, it’s important to keep in mind that your lighting should not only set the mood but also help you see properly for all your chopping, searing, and kneading. Under-cabinet lighting can be extremely useful. It can illuminate your countertops while you work and can be turned off with the flick of a switch when you need more ambience.
  • Your bedroom is arguably one of the most important rooms in your home. It’s essential to get the lighting right to have a space you look forward to going to bed in. Bedside lamps with warm bulbs are a must.
  • Your living room is incredibly versatile and often used in many different ways. It’s important that your lighting is just as adaptable as the room. Table lamps are great, but sometimes a large lantern, an oversized pendant, or a big sculptural floor lamp can add a focal point. Add a dimmer switch to your overheads to easily change the mood and brightness of your lighting depending on the time of day.
  • Install vanity lighting or lights around the mirrors in your bathroom. Choose daylight-simulating light bulbs so that you’ll be able to see how you will look outside of your home.

How to Choose Lights

Choosing the right type of lighting depends on several factors, such as the task or activity you need it for and even your age. People need more light and are more sensitive to glare as they age.

  • Before you go shopping, measure the length and width of the room you want to light up.
  • Think about both architectural and decorative fixtures for a room.
  • Include different levels of lighting.
  • Keep in mind that a room often has more than one purpose. This is why dimmer switches are so useful.
  • Find out if the lighting will be the "star" of a room. If the lighting in a room needs to be the main attraction, it will usually be the only source and have a dramatic style.
  • You can choose lighting that goes well with a room's style, or you can try something different and buy fixtures that stand out.
  • Think Big - Designers say that a large light fixture is usually a good choice when you're not sure what to do.
