1/ Not making sure the floor is level

To get that smooth, seamless look, the subfloor needs to be level. Laying down laminate tiles on uneven floors will make it hard for the tiles to lock into place. Unlike wooden boards, laminate tiles are designed to fit into place without any joints showing. Uneven floors mean that tiles will not fit together properly. Even if tiles do fit together, you will feel the uneven floor when walking over the laminate. Some spots may feel soft, which can lead to wear and tear over time. 

2/ Not using underlayment

Laminate tiles are very thin, with no structural integrity. They cannot be placed onto floors without any support. If you do not first lay down an underlayment, the tiles will bend easily. Underlayment is a thin layer of foam that absorbs any small deviations in the subfloor below. 

3/ Not getting professional help

The biggest mistake of all is trying to install the flooring yourself if you do not have experience in home renovation. If you have the tools and know-how to install the floors yourself, you should not have too many problems. Most people do not have the benefit of DIY experience, however.
